Cantor Jacob Greenberg began serving as the full-time Cantor of Congregation Beth Israel (Scotch Plains, NJ) in June 2023. He was previously the Cantor-Youth Director of Congregation B'nai Israel (Toms River, NJ) for three years.

 

He graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary in May 2020 when he received Cantorial Ordination and a Master's in Sacred Music from the H.L. Miller Cantorial School.

Cantor Greenberg prides himself on being a versatile Jewish communal leader. As a musician and composer, he takes advantage of the full spectrum of Jewish music. As a community-builder, he enjoys engaging with people of all ages. As a devoted student of Torah, he seizes the opportunity to speak, teach, and learn it. And as a pastor, he prioritizes being an active listener as he accompanies his congregants, their loved ones, and caretakers.
